XL Aesthetics is a new technology company that asked for a complete branding exercise alongside a professional website design and a range of printed brochures. The main goal was to create a very strong brand that can be effectively used across all media, taking into account social media and other marketing avenues.

The Branding / Logo Design
The brand colours needed to reflect the machines that they sell, using a strong navy blue. But they left it up to me to create the logo design itself. The XL letters were going to be featured on all product names, so this needed to be the main focus, and also used as the social media profile image.
The logo is very simple, using a clean sans-serif font, which was intentional. For future marketing, sending email newsletters, it will be easy to convey a logo using basic web fonts, meaning we will not need to use images unless absolutely necessary – which can be a big advantage in email marketing.
The Web Design
The main goal of the web design was to make it extremely easy to navigate, whether on a desktop, laptop or mobile phone. I also tried to make it very fast loading, using optimised images at all times. Of course, this is all designed to improve the user experience and encourage customer enquiries, but also adds SEO value if the website is ultra quick.
I also tried to make the website a little different, so it’s interesting as soon as a visitor lands on the website. After creating the printed brochures, where I used a two column design, I wanted to apply this to the website for continuity. So I split the website into two columns – but only when viewed on a desktop / laptop. When viewed on a phone it will adjust it’s layout and turn into a single column.
The navigation was intentionally simple. After monitoring hundreds of websites over the years, I find that the simple websites always generate more response. You really need to guide your visitor to where you want them to go, yet giving them the ability to navigate anywhere else at all times. It’s early days yet! But I know already that it will generate enquiries.
Search Engine Optimisation / SEO
There is of course a good SEO set-up, covering all the bases for a good SEO score. But obviously this will continue to improve as the company grows. As we generate more photography, more information, reviews and blog articles, the website will continue to climb up the rankings. But with years of experience in this industry, I have set the basic SEO titles that are known to be the most popular.
Future support
This is another one of my regular clients, so they benefit from my continuous monitoring and updating services! Every single aspect of their marketing output will be produced by myself. Of course the end goal is to get many customer enquiries through the website, so I will tailor the direction to achieve this in the future.
