OVERVIEW:
I first took over the Peonia Medical website back in 2022 where I converted it from a Duda DIY website to a WordPress website. And in 2026 we decided to refresh the style a bit, and changing the back-end CMS system from old school HTML editing to the newer WordPress Blocks system.

Refreshing the style
The general layout and content remained much the same in the new web design, but I changed many sections of the website introducing much more space and a few pastel, pale colours for a bit of visual interest. I also introduced a series of icons to convey her treatment categories.
And the other purpose for the 2026 update was to utilise WordPress Blocks, so the owner can have far more control of the website content, being able to easily change any text or images without causing any issues. As I mentioned, back in 2022 I built most WordPress content using the Code Editor, not being a fan of the heavy page builders like Elementor or DIVI.
But I find, depending on the theme, WordPress Blocks can be utilised and controlled with good flexibility in terms of layout, and the customer then gets a fully visual page editor, much like you get with DIVI or Elementor. But of course, WordPress Blocks is free, and is always going to be safe in terms of making updates, being a core WordPress feature.
Updated logo design
I also updated the Peonia Medical logo design, mainly to make it more compact and suitable for social media. Also, with a huge following on social media, they hadn’t made any updates or posts for many months due to being too busy. So I created a series of simple graphics that they could use on social media, using the updated logo.
The web design in 2022

Initially the main goals were to make the treatment pages easier to find, using simplified navigation, while retaining all URLs and SEO value from the previous website. We needed to add a number of new treatment pages, which made it necessary to simplify the navigation.
We refined the blog articles they already had, improving the blog in general and added a number of new blogs and categories, to ensure we had a range of different categories for SEO. We also added an e-commerce system which will be rolled out over the next few months.
